Comfort

Makes your home more comfortable. Stop feeling cold, then hot, often sweaty and clammy. Instead, always feel dry and cool.

The Total Comfort Mode (TCM) is the most commonly used setting on the InnoTek Air ByPass Dehumidifier (IABD). It is utilized in homes located in humid climates to enhance comfort and improve indoor air quality (IAQ).

Your Health

Excess moisture can make breathing difficult and trigger respiratory problems. To minimize asthma symptoms, reduce indoor humidity to below 50%.

Excess moisture can make breathing difficult, increase dust mites and mold, and trigger respiratory problems. To minimize asthma symptoms, maintain indoor humidity between 30% and 50% for better air quality.

Excess moisture makes it hard to breathe and can trigger respiratory problems. Reduce indoor humidity to make the air more comfortable and lessen asthma symptoms. The IABD, using the TCM, can maintain humidity between 40% and 55% for better asthma control.

Virus Transmission

High humidity in your home can promote the growth of viruses, bacteria, and mold, increasing the risk of illness. Lowering the humidity level is crucial for a healthier and safer home.

Protect Your Home

Lowering humidity levels protects electronics, photos, and books, and prevents costly damage.

Lowering humidity levels protects your belongings such as electronics, photos, and books, and prevents costly damage, saving you money.

Lowering humidity levels shields your precious possessions like electronics, photos, and books. By lowering humidity, the IABD (TCM) helps you avoid costly repairs or replacements, ultimately saving you money.

Better Sleep

High humidity increases alertness and reduces deep and REM sleep.

High humidity can increase wakefulness and reduce the amount of time you spend in both slow-wave NREM and REM sleep. Since both of these stages are crucial for your overall health, sleepers may experience additional issues related to bodily recovery and memory consolidation (Sleep Foundation)

For Larger Homes or Small Commercial Sites

For larger homes or small commercial sites, our solutions can transform an HVAC unit into an extremely powerful dedicated dehumidifier.

For Large Commercial Sites

We also have solutions for large commercial sites that require zone dehumidification such as office buildings or supermarkets.

Testimonial

I am a work-at-home mom with three kids. Comfort, air quality, and getting a good night's sleep are very important to me, and I felt they were lacking.
Since my husband installed the InnoTek Air Bypass Dehumidifier (IABD), I no longer feel hot or cold, and I do not feel clammy. I also sleep much better. My husband tells me that the indoor humidity has dropped from 70% to 50%, and that he now sets the thermostat to 75°F instead of 70°F, it feels super-comfortable.

Overview

Excess humidity is the primary enemy of comfort in your home OR COMMERCIAL SPACE. It can also cause significant damage.

A/Cs alone do not deliver the dehumidification required for true comfort, but with the InnoTek Air ByPass Dehumidifer (IABD) in TC Mode (TCM), they now can.

In TCM, the IABD, when added to your Central A/C, prioritizes dehumidification resulting in a highly effective dehumidifier in addition to your central A/C. Using an adaptive algorithm, the controller in the IABD gradually accommodates the cooling load.

The dehumidification settings on the TC Mode can be set to On, Off, or Auto.

When you select “ON”, dehumidification is always prioritized.  This is an excellent options for Contractors that really need to dehumidify a house before putting it on the market.  It is also a very good option for extremely humid environments.

The “AUTO” option is the best option for home comfort.

In both options, you can select the RH Value.

For Your Information

AC Dehumidification

Most days, the A/C cycles frequently and barely dehumidifies during the first 5-10 minutes of each duty cycle. The DBAS significantly reduces this initial period.

In an A/C, dehumidification is an uncontrollable by-product of the refrigeration process required for cooling. The Total Comfort Mode (TCM) mode regulates this dehumidification process.

In an A/C, the latent/sensible ratio is uncontrollable, resulting in poor dehumidification.

The IABD in the TCM can control the latent/sensible ratio.

Homeowners

When the AC does not dehumidify adequately, homeowners often set the thermostat temperature to a very low uncomfortable setting causing the AC to dehumidify continuously.

The IABD (TC Mode) eliminates the need to continuously overcool.

TC Mode Benefits

Synergizes with your AC to deliver cool, dry air instead of cold, wet air.

It greatly ENHANCES the A/C’s dehumidification performance in all North American climate zones.

In the TCM, the IABD boosts an A/C’s or heat pump’s dehumidification performance up to a factor of 5 by:

  • Greatly reducing the amount of time the AC starts dehumidifying.
  • Reaching a lower dewpoint.
  • Changing sensible energy to latent energy.

How Does It Work?

The IABD consists of a modulating bypass fan, a motorized damper, a transformer, and the InnoTek Air ByPass Dehumidifier Controller (IABDC).

The system is attached directly to a SINGLE OR 2-STAGE split-type cooling system parallel to the cooling coil.

The IABD diverts and BYPASSES the air around the cooling coil so that the coil’s operating temperature drops SIGNIFICANTLY. The air rejoins the bypassed air and leaves dry and cool air instead of cold and wet air.

The IABD Controller

  • Brain

Is the "brain" of the IABD. In the Total Comfort Mode (TCM), it enables the IABD to receive the information it needs to ensure that the air is properly dehumidified.

  • Duty Cycles

In TC mode, it enables the IABD to almost eliminates the first 5-10 minutes of the duty cycle. It also increases the length of each duty cycle.

  • Thermostat

    Interfaces and monitors the thermostat.

  • Set Points

Can control the humidification and dehumidification set points.

  • Ratios

    Controls the latent/sensible ratio.

  • Dewpoint

Controls the dewpoint of the delivery air.

  • Central Heating

Enables the IABD to integrate with your central heating or an external heater.

  • Overcooling

Significantly reduces the need for overcooling.

TCM SIZES

The TC Mode can be used with three sizes of the IABD to accommodate different cooling equipment sizes.

  • IABD -8
  • IABD -10
  • IABD – 12

A/C SIZES

The IABD, in TC mode, can be installed with a split-type cooling system, either a single or 2-stage ranging from 1.5 to 5-tons

INSTALLATION

There are two ways to install a IABD in TC Mode, attached to a central cooling system. The drawing on the first page shows an installation with the cooling coil in the supply of the indoor blower.

The drawing below shows an installation where the cooling coil is located at the return or intake end of the indoor unit blower.

NOTE

The IABD will not function in Total Comfort Mode when installed with (a) rooftop units (instead, use ADM Mode for central systems), (2) ductless systems or (3) split systems having an outdoor unit (this includes inverter-type compressors).
